First Fund Welcomes Vetsie to its Portfolio

#GoVirtual with Vetsie

We’re excited to announce our partnership with Vetsie, and their incredible founding team, Alex Chieng and Steve Boyer

Vetsie is a web based veterinary telemedicine platform built to connect pet owners with their preferred veterinarian from the comfort of their homes. They recently closed a successful pre-seed $250,000 round, of which First Fund was the largest investor.

“We built Vetsie for the well-being of veterinary professionals and pet parents. As a pet parent myself, I understand how important it is for owners to be accessible to veterinarians, anywhere, anytime. We provide triage, telemedicine and client communication in one platform so veterinary staff can achieve work-life balance and ultimately, enhance the world of pet care.” said Alex Chieng, CEO, Vetsie.

In a world where Covid-19 has impacted veterinary accessibility - vet clinics are rescheduling and postponing exams, some have closed completely - telemedicine has become indispensable.

Vetsie makes veterinary care more accessible by providing means for pet owners to connect with their veterinarian remotely, in a secure, private video chat that provides peace of mind, while also allowing veterinarians to monetize their professional expertise.

“The burgeoning pet sector is something we’ve had our eyes on for a while” said First Fund founder Samarth Chandola, “Telemedicine for pets is the need of the hour and Vetsie is an excellent initiative to protect fur families everywhere. They are poised to become a key player in the up and coming pet telemedicine market.”

We are excited to join the Vetsie journey that will transform and inspire the world of pet care.
